Norwich Hand Surgeon
Mr Tom Bochmann was invited to return to Norfolk to take up an NHS consultant post in 2025, bringing with him a bredth of experience and techniques from across the UK.
He practices with a treatment philosophy focused on education and patient choice; typically advocating for the least invasive/lowest risk option to deal with a given problem.
Fellowship trained by both orthopaedic and plastics hand surgeons, Mr Bochmann offers a comprehensive expertise in this field.
He has particular interests in denervation procedures, WALANT surgery, and wrist replacement. He performed Norwich's first Motec wrist replacement surgery, and is taking tertiary referrals for this procedure.

Time spent in Tanzania as a student first highlighted the issue of healthcare inequity throughout the world, and sparked an interest that has persisted through Mr Bochmann's career.
He has served on the BSSH Global Partnerships Trainees Committee and supported an educational mission to SriLanka.
In 2023 the BSSH commenced a large scale international effort to support the development of a hand surgery service in Malawi; the LION project. Mr Bochmann was one of the first volunteers for the project and went on to join the leadership team for it.
